Access to space becomes more affordable from year to year.

Over 150 companies worldwide are developing novel, low-cost launch vehicles. Few of them will succeed, but this will be enough to significantly reduce the entrance barrier to space. Nevertheless, launching an object into space is only one of many barriers and hurdles which need to be overcome on the way to a commercially or scientifically successful small satellite mission. Some of these hurdles are obvious – others require experience to be seen in advance and to be efficiently overcome. German Orbital Systems has accumulated a lot of significant experience from a dozen small satellite missions. Based on the lessons learned, we have established best practices from which our clients can benefit at any stage of their projects.

Consulting

Companies or institutions which either develop a satellite or focus on a subsystem can benefit from our experience by involving us our specialists in the review process.

We ask the right questions and make sure, that no risks remain unrevealed. Depending on the focus of the project, we pick the right specialist from our team to complement the review board with the right skillset.
As an experienced Satellite manufacturer, we are qualified to assess the technical risks in business plans. We therefore offer advisory services to investors in the framework of the technical due diligence process.
We also offer feasibility studies for all kinds of projects which involve a space segment. Under such a contract we have e.g. reviewed and assessed the feasibility of a constellation of satellites for connected driving for a big German car manufacturer.

Technology Transfer

Satellites are fascinating. But still they are just another high-tech invention of humankind.

Same as bicycles or cars many years ago. So, if one would decide to build a bicycle, the first step would be to get someone on the team who already knows the basics and to focus on the USPs of the new product – instead of “reinventing the wheel”. We at GOS believe that for satellites it works exactly the same way. We therefore developed a package of information, which describes everything what is needed to build a first basic CubeSat from scratch. It covers the infrastructure, the knowledge, the right team composition as well as all design, manufacturing, assembly and testing processes. As part of our technology transfer service we help our customers to establish the right organization structure, to equip laboratories, to set up a team and ultimately to build a satellite.

Training

Space is complicated. So is to play piano.

But if you have the right teacher, who can motivate you to continue practicing, to keep going even if it is hard and who is patient and skilled – you will master it quickly and with a lot of fun on the way. The core team of German Orbital Systems has solid academic background. Over the years, our staff has trained customers all over the world. Among our customers are Engineers from ArianeGroup, the National Space Science Agency of the Kingdom of Bahrain, several educational institutions from Eastern Europe, Russia and China. Our most popular intensive trainings are “Remote Sensing with CubeSats” and the “Basics of CubeSat Design”. Our classes always include practical sessions where small groups of 2-3 Students can work with real space equipment. Our rich archive of lecture ng material allows us to prepare tailored trainings for special customers as well.
